As of July 2010, the firm Ecosystem Saxonia GmbH is a member of the GICON Group. Ecosystem Saxonia GmbH was founded in 1990 as an independent consulting engineering company.  The firm has been successfully active both in Germany and abroad.  The main areas of activity for Ecosystem Saxonia are planning and consulting services in the following areas:  

·       Water Resources Management

·       Civil and Hydraulic Engineering

·       Residential Water Management

Ecosystem Saxonia is comprised of an experienced team of 14 civil engineers, scientists, and technicians.  Both individual projects as well as complex interdisciplinary projects are undertaken, from the analysis of the ecological, process-oriented, hydraulic or technical tasks through to its completed structural implementation and documentation.  The team has extensive experience in the areas of Water Ecology, water quality simulations, civil engineering construction, hydraulic structures, 1D and 2D water level layer calculations for flood protection, process specifications including design of industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants, examination of the encroachments on protected resources resulting from planned projects and planning of mitigation for compensation of encroachments, and project management. The firm also possesses its own process engineering laboratory and thereby expands the laboratory base of GICON.
