Department: Process Engineering

In the Department of Process Engineering, chemists, process engineers, electrical and EMSR planners operate and answer accomplished designer questions from thermal process engineering, reaction technology and fluidics.

Alongside the known classical work areas of process engineering and reaction technology, we also serve selected work areas within mechanical process engineering.  For instance, milling, grading, and sorting processes as well as filter and dust exhausting equipment can be planned individually or as a process line.

At ACHEMA 2012, one of the greatest Exhibition-Congresses on Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection, GICON was represented with a lecture on the architectural explosion of bunkers and storage facilities. Dr. Schreck held the presentation to an interested audience on 18 June 2012 in Frankfurt [more].

Focal Points

Procedural Planning

  • Specification of concept, analysis and optimization of the processes of pulse transmission, thermal transfer, and mass transfer analysis and optimization of process
  • Analysis and optimization of fluidic systems (gas networks, relief and blow out systems, flare gas systems, and gas displacement systems, oil supply systems)
  • Simulation and optimization of procedural systems with various simulation instruments.
  • Basic engineering / design engineering

Technology and Facility Choice

  • Technology choice, determination of the state-of-the-art
  • Interface definition of equipment accessories and package units
  • Establishment of the electrical engineering and MSR concepts
  • Establishment of utility supplies

Project Implementation

  • Pipeline design
  • Facility and equipment assembly
  • Formulation of facility and contract specifications
  • Monitoring of implementation and commissioning
