Research and development is a major focus of activity in the GICON group; creating innovation is at the core of our company’s business philosophy.  We develop new processes, products and services, both as an innovative service provider for our clients as well as to advance the overall development of the company. In order to achieve this we have assembled a highly qualified team and also a high performance technical infrastructure which includes an extensive network of co-operations with leading research and development institutions.

Innovation takes place in all departments and business units of the GICON group. Each department is tasked with developing a new product or process on an annual basis. The in-house department of research coordination supports these projects.

In addition to the department based innovation, the company also pursues comprehensive developments in complex technology areas, under the umbrella of the ‘technology development’ business unit. This unit focuses on renewable energy as well as material and energy efficiencies.  The technology areas are biogas generation and utilization (with emphasis on waste to energy), bio solar (high efficiency reactors for the production of micro algae), floating offshore foundations for the wind industry and industrial water resources management. The development covers the entire path from patented invention to serial production.

The various technology developments have positioned the GICON Group as an innovation and technology leader both in Germany as well as internationally. This is also reflected in the various media coverage which can be found on our media library.
