GICON belongs to the 50 fastest teams at the Rewe Team Challenge 2019

A total of 32 GICON runners competed in the 11th edition.

With a combined time of one hour and 25 minutes, GICON is among the 50 fastest teams at the 11th edition of the Rewe Team Challenge in Dresden. A total of 25,000 runners took part in the annual race, GICON again participated with eight teams, a total of 32 athletes.

The Rewe Team Challenge is an event that has become an integral part of GICON's sports and health management. It is important to stay fit and active in order to be able to achieve maximum performance in everyday working life. With a time of 20:53 minutes, Robert Mörseburg from the Division of Information Technology was the fastest GICON runner on the 5 kilometer loop from Dresden's Altmarkt to Dynamo Stadium. He finished 816th out of over 13,000 men. Oliver Schwamberger (21:05 min; Research Coordination), Dr. Kai-Uwe Ulrich (21:05 min; GICON InTraBiD GmbH) and Wayne Brown (21:43 min; Ecosystems) completed the team of the four fastest runners of the engineering service provider.

The fastest GICON woman was Susanne Rossteuscher (Division of Environmental and Approval Planning) with a time of 24:22 minutes. She finished in 481st place out of 8,657 female runners at the start. Corina Niemand (26:09 min; Soil and Water Management), Sarah Schwerdtle (27:29 min; Soil and Water Management) and Christina Maerttens (31:18 min; Environmental and Approval Planning) rounded out the fastest GICON ladies quartet.

Active healthcare – “Challenge” accepted

Every year since 2012, GICON has participated in the Team Challenge with athletes. In addition to soccer and volleyball tournaments, gymnastics and physiotherapy as well as annual health days in the individual branches, the engineering service provider offers a wide range of preventive health care and active support at the workplace.
